If widespread rumors are any indication, Bradley Cooper has the option of voicing Rocket Raccoon in the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy. For those of you who aren't comic-book fans, Rocket Raccoon is an intelligent, gun-toting raccoon who travels through space as part of a team of misfit superheroes — because yes, you're not dreaming, that's a real thing that's going to happen in a major motion picture. 2. North West will debut on Kris Jenner's talk show

Last week, it was widely reported that Kanye West was attempting to convince Anna Wintour to put his daughter, North West, on the cover of Vogue. But faced with rejection, it turns out that the baby's debut will be at a venue with a considerably lower profile. Radar Online reports that West and Kim Kardashian turned down a $4 million offer from an Australian news outlet, opting instead to showcase their baby on Kris, the flagging talk show hosted by Kardashian's mother Kris Jenner. An insider says that the image, which will allegedly appear on Friday's episode, shows North West in a "very expensive" onesie, because not even other babies can keep up with the Kardashians. 3. Joss Whedon isn't big on the Twilight franchise

Avengers director Joss Whedon pioneered the teenage vampire story with Buffy the Vampire Slayer. So how does he feel about its perversely unfaithful spiritual successor, the Twilight franchise? Surprise, surprise: He's not a fan. "The Twilight thing and a lot of these franchise attempts coming out, everything rests on what this girl will do, but she's completely passive, or not really knowing what the hell is going on," said Whedon in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. 4. There are going to be a bunch of Avatar books, too

Remember Avatar? That movie everybody saw in 2009, despite the fact that pretty much no one ever thinks or talks about it anymore? Well, director James Cameron still cares about it, and he plans to film the first of three sequels next year. But if that's not enough Avatar for you, Thursday brought some fantastic news: Cameron has also hired writer Steven Charles Gould to pen no less than four novels set in the Avatar universe — a perfect medium for a movie people saw just because it was in 3D. 5. Sorry, you can't go sit on the (500) Days of Summer bench anymore

A pivotal scene in 2009's indie romcom (500) Days of Summer features Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel sitting on a bench overlooking Los Angeles. But if you're a moony-eyed hipster looking to recreate the memorable shot, you've already missed your chance: According to The Hollywood Reporter, the city has permanently closed the park due to state cutbacks.
