Hotel of the week: Hotel Chocolat, Soufrière, St. Lucia
A Caribbean hideaway for foodies and beachgoers alike.
Here’s one of the Caribbean’s most exciting new hideaways—”for foodies and beachgoers alike,” said Travel + Leisure. Hotel Chocolat, a British chocolatier, has ventured into the actual hotel business with this boutique resort located on St. Lucia’s oldest working cocoa plantation. Fourteen “rustic-chic” cottages, with stone walls and open-topped showers, surround a restaurant that features such “innovative” dishes as lamb with chiles and cocoa. From their tables, diners have “postcard-perfect views” of the surrounding rain forest and the Hershey’s Kiss–like Petit Piton.
