Best websites...Online retailing’s Webby honorees
Asos.com, Fab.com, and Wantful.com
Asos.com earned its latest Webby Award—the Internet’s Oscars—by providing “eminently reliable customer service” and constantly innovating, said The Independent (U.K.). The site “has injected fashion with a more discerning edge” in part through regular collaborations with innovative designers.
Fab.com, winner of a “people’s choice” Webby, may be the fastest-growing e-commerce start-up ever, said Forbes. The site sells everything from T-shirts to whimsical pet bowls—and each well-designed item is “something you’ve never seen before.”
Wantful.com “is like a virtual personal shopper,” said NYTimes.com. When you need a gift, just choose a price range and share some insights about the recipient. The fledgling site curates a list of gift choices that it mails or emails to that person. When the recipient makes a choice, the gift is shipped and you’re charged.
