Tastemakers adore Oregon’s red wines, but the state’s “overshadowed” whites are “amazing too,” said Ray Isle in Food & Wine.
2010 Ponzi Vineyards Pinot Gris ($15). Behold “a textbook pinot gris”—from one of Oregon’s most respected wineries. Naturally, it combines “fresh nectarine and white-peach flavors” with “zesty acidity.”
2010 Elk Cove Vineyards Pinot Blanc ($19). Why more pinot gris drinkers don’t know about pinot blanc is a mystery, especially when you consider “how good this juicy, full-bodied wine is.”
