Tip of the week: New ideas for Easter eggs
Go fluorescent; Add glitter; Dye the entire basket
Go fluorescent. Add a shot of “rowdy” color to your table by wrapping dyed eggs with a bit of neon thread. Wrap them just a few times around the middle, tuck the loose ends under one of the loops, and glue the ends in place with Mod Podge.
Add glitter. Neon food coloring and neon glitter can produce an even more eye-popping effect. To start, make an egg-drying rack by pushing pins through foam board in a rough grid pattern. Brush craft glue on one half of a neon-dyed egg, sprinkle with glitter, then place on the rack. When dry, repeat with other half.
Dye the entire basket. “Why should eggs have all the fun?” In a glass bowl, create a dye bath of water, vinegar, and coloring. Dip eggs, basket, and raffia (for basket grass) into the bath. Remove items with tongs, dry separately, and reassemble.
