Hotel of the week: King Pacific Lodge, Princess Royal Island, British Columbia
King Pacific Lodge is anchored off an uninhabited island and accessible only by seaplane.
So remote that it’s accessible only by seaplane, this 17-room lodge is “possibly the world’s most luxurious floating hotel,” said Sara Clemence in The Wall Street Journal. Anchored off an uninhabited island in Canada’s Great Bear Rainforest, the lodge makes for a “serene escape” or a launchpad for a range of wilderness activities, including fishing, whale-watching, kayaking, or “searching for the rare white Kermode bear.” The lodge is open from June through September; rates include meals, activities, and the flight from Vancouver.
