Drunk driver jumps into the ocean to evade cops

A California man who appeared to be driving drunk evaded arrest when he ran away from police, jumped into the Pacific Ocean, and swam out of sight toward the horizon. Police thought the man might have drowned, and a Coast Guard helicopter search failed to find any evidence of him. But after a passenger in the car identified the missing driver by name, the suspect’s family called the police to say he was alive and was willing to turn himself in. A spokeswoman for the police asked that the driver call the cops himself, “so we know, indeed, that he is safe.”

Jen wants a husband.”

Cara Zandvliet's $600 water bill

The family of a Canadian man who died with a faucet running in his bathroom has been hit with a massive water bill. Allister MacPherson lay dead in his Port Colborne, Ontario, home for three weeks before his body was found; the faucet ran nonstop that entire time. The town is refusing to waive the resulting water bill of $600. “I want to recognize this is a good town,” said MacPherson’s daughter, Cara Zandvliet, “but city hall won’t do anything about this.”
