Where to buy...Lance Letscher
The artist's intricate collages are on view and for sale at the Conduit Gallery in Dallas.
For two decades, Lance Letscher has been finding his means of expression in found paper. Books, journals, old recipes, and various antique papers have supplied an ever-expanding visual vocabulary for his intricate collages. Where previous works recalled Paul Klee’s abstractions or the spirals and swirls of Gustav Klimt, the artist’s latest series, “The Needle in the Hay,” creates Rube Goldberg–esque mechanized worlds using cutout images of various 20th-century industrial products. Lionel trains, factory smokestacks, record turntables, and twisted steel girders combine in maze-like patterns, making many of these vast canvases look like overengineered landscapes. At Conduit Gallery, 1626 C Hi Line Dr., Dallas, (214) 939-0064. Through Nov. 12. Prices range from $2,500 to $24,000.
