Gossip: Alec Baldwin
Baldwin boycotted the Emmys after Fox cut a skit in which he makes a joke about News Corp. boss Rupert Murdoch.
Alec Baldwin boycotted the Emmys this week after Fox cut a pre-recorded gag about News Corp. boss Rupert Murdoch, said the New York Daily News. In the skit, Baldwin joked that he could hear Murdoch listening in on his phone calls—a reference to News Corp.’s ongoing phone hacking scandal. Fox, which is owned by the media giant, said it nixed the gag, as it didn’t want to make light of the hacking scandal. But Baldwin said on Twitter that the media giant was being too sensitive, and that the joke “would have made them look better. A little.”
