Greyhound's false alarm
Authorities were alarmed when four silver-colored canisters fell out of the cargo compartment of a Greyhound bus in Tennessee last week and began hissing steam with an ominous, unpleasant odor. Police rushed to the scene, shut down Interstate 65, and summoned hazmat crews. The precautions proved unnecessary once authorities discovered that the canisters contained frozen bull semen bound for a breeding facility in Texas.

Simon Cowell is planning to be cryogenically frozen when he dies, in hopes that he might one day be brought back to life. “It’s an insurance policy,” says the talent-show mogul (American Idol, The X Factor), who is worth an estimated $330 million. “Why not have a second crack?” Cowell, a health nut who downs special shakes and berries to prolong his life, acknowledges it’s possible that the $240,000 cryogenic process may not work. But, he says, “I have a feeling that if I don’t do it, I could regret it in 300 years.”
Drunken passenger titillates fellow passengers
A flight from Moscow to London returned to the airport shortly after takeoff because a drunken female shocked her fellow passengers by rising from her seat and performing erotic dances in the aisle. Russian transport officials said the unnamed 39-year-old “was in a state of insobriety” as she disturbed the other passengers by “taking off their glasses” while gyrating suggestively in front of them. After she was taken off the plane, a medical examination found that she was “in good condition, but maybe a little drunk.”
