A California man is suing Hilton Hotels over the 75-cent cost of a copy of USA Today. Rodney Harmon, 55, says he didn’t request the newspaper he found outside his door, and later was shocked to find a 75-cent charge on his bill. Harmon accuses Hilton of contributing to an “offensive waste of precious resources” and “deforestation” by distributing unwanted newspapers.

A Vermont high school has banned students from wearing pajamas and slippers to school. Officials at Mount Anthony Union High School said that the current sleepwear fad is a potential safety hazard, given the low traction coefficient of slipper soles, and that the wearing of clothing designed to be slept in “also says something to the work ethic” of the wearer.
