Gossip: Huma Abedin
Anthony Weiner’s wife is getting advice from her boss, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, about how to handle the emotional fallout from her husband's confessions.
Huma Abedin, Anthony Weiner’s wife, is getting advice from an expert. After Weiner admitted this week that he’d exchanged sexual tweets and texts with at least half a dozen women, Abedin sought advice from her boss, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, about how to handle the emotional fallout, says The Wall Street Journal. Abedin, 35, a widely respected government operative, began her career as an intern in the Clinton White House and worked for Hillary throughout the Monica Lewinsky affair.
Abedin has decided to stay in the marriage, but she never considered appearing at Weiner’s side at his confessional press conference. “I just don’t think that’s who she is, to stand there like that,” said a person close to her. “She’s not a stand-by-your-man type. She’s very private.” Abedin left the U.S. on Wednesday, to accompany Clinton on a trip to Africa.
