Plastic returns to the Capitol cafeteria
House Republicans have reintroduced Styrofoam cups and plastic plates to the Capitol cafeteria. The change is part of a larger effort to reverse former Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s “Green the Capitol” initiative, which mandated the use of recyclable utensils and cups made of cornstarch.

The U.S. last week launched an experimental space shuttle into orbit, where it will spend up to nine months on a classified test mission. The X-37B shuttle, a smaller, robotic version of the space shuttle, may be testing a new technology for spying on foreign nations from space, or for snatching or neutralizing other countries’ satellites, experts speculate.
