Las Vegas—the city where almost anything goes—may ban hula hoops. The hoops are rented at a popular pedestrian mall, but local businesses complain that the gyrating tourists block foot traffic. Councilman Starvos Anthony concedes that Sin City is usually very tolerant, but notes, “These aren’t little hula hoops. They’re big hula hoops.”

After four years of being picketed by protesters from a local church, dancers at the Foxhole strip club in Ohio are returning the favor. “They say we’re home wreckers and whores,” said one dancer and mother of six, as she picketed the New Beginnings Ministries church in a bikini. “The fact of the matter is we’re working to keep our own homes together, to give our kids what they need.”
