Gossip: Rick Pitino
Karen Sypher was convicted on six felony counts for her attempt to extort $10 million from University of Louisville basketball coach Rick Pitino.
A woman who attempted to extort $10 million from University of Louisville basketball coach Rick Pitino could get up to 26 years in prison for the failed plot, said the New York Post. Karen Sypher was convicted this week on six felony counts related to the extortion attempt, which was hatched after she and Pitino had a “15 second” sexual encounter in a booth at a Louisville restaurant in 2003. “She was on a mission to get him,” said Louisville athletic director Tom Jurich, who elected not to fire the shamed coach. “He knows he let his family down that night.”
