Makers of Axe body spray sued for false advertising
An Indian man is suing the makers of Axe body spray, claiming that in seven years of using the product he has yet to find a girlfriend. Vaibhav Bedi, 26, says that Axe’s racy marketing campaign led him to believe the product had love-potion properties and is seeking around $40,000 in damages. “The company cheated me,” said Bedi. “It says women will be attracted to you if you use Axe. I used it for seven years but no girl came to me.”

Mel Gibson has called off his marriage to Russian singer Oksana Grigorieva, says The National Enquirer. Grigorieva, 39, this week gave birth to the 53-year-old Gibson’s daughter, and the couple had plans to tie the knot at Gibson’s private, ultra-Catholic church in Malibu. Grigorieva, however, has refused to sign a prenuptial agreement, and has been feuding with Gibson’s seven older children, who see her as a gold digger. Gibson, says a family friend, has decided “that marriage to this person would be a mistake.”
Officials detain man with reptiles taped to body
Customs officials in Oslo have detained a man found with no fewer than 24 live reptiles taped to his body. Officer Helge Breilid said staff first discovered a tarantula in the 22-year-old suspect’s hand luggage and then found 14 royal python snakes and 10 albino geckos hidden in stockings and cans taped beneath his clothing. “His whole body was in constant motion,” said Breilid.
