Borgata’s Water Club
Atlantic City
The Water Club has single-handedly upped Atlantic City’s grandeur level, said Andrea Sachs in The Washington Post. Does it offer snob appeal? “Oh, dahling, how right you are.” The 800-room, 43-story hotel features such exotic accoutrements as padded leather walls, zebrawood floors, and a private entrance “far removed from the gaming din” of the nearby casinos. A fireplace and water-trickling rock wall accent the Sunroom lobby lounge; the spa contains an infinity pool; and every room is appointed with an Italian-marble shower and Egyptian-cotton sheets. In lieu of a traditional restaurant, guests can be served either poolside, in the spa, or in the lounge.
