Tom Brokaw will take over for the late Tim Russert at Meet the Press until after the November presidential election, NBC announced this week. NBC News president Steve Capus offered Brokaw the job as they shared a train ride home from Russert’s funeral. “I’ve been appearing on Meet the Press since the days of Watergate,” said the former Nightly News anchorman, “so I’ll feel right at home.” NBC is reportedly looking at David Gregory, Andrea Mitchell, and Chris Matthews as permanent hosts.
