Elmo's surprise, Jessica Simpson's sacrifice
A Florida family says their toddler’s beloved talking Elmo doll had an abrupt personality change and started threatening to kill him.
A Florida family says their toddler’s beloved talking Elmo doll had an abrupt personality change and started threatening to kill him. Melissa Bowman says the cuddly Sesame Street character used to sing songs and talk about colors, to the delight of her 2-year-old son, James. After its batteries died and were changed, however, the doll would only say “Kill James,” in a sinister singsong cadence. “It’s not something that you would think would ever come out of a toy,’’ his mom says.
Jessica Simpson is prepared to sacrifice her career for the love of NFL star Tony Romo, said The National Enquirer. The 27-year-old singer-actress is coming off a string of box-office flops, and her last album sold poorly. But instead of finishing her next album, or taking acting lessons as her handlers have urged, Simpson continues to jet around the world with the Dallas Cowboys quarterback. “Her career is in free fall, but Jessica is to, tally consumed with chasing Tony,” says a source. “If both Tony and her record label dump her, the only thing she’ll be left with is tears.”
Two airline pilots have been suspended on suspicion that they overshot their destination because they were asleep. A Feb. 13 Go! Airlines flight from Honolulu was approaching its destination at Hilo International Airport when it failed to descend and just kept going. Air traffic controllers tried and failed to contact the pilot and first officer for 25 minutes. Finally, the plane turned around and landed. A spokesman for the Federal Aviation Administration said the agency was investigating whether the pilot and first officer “fell asleep while the plane was in the air.”
