Good Day, Bad Day
Driving by touch, minding your beeswax
GOOD DAY FOR: Driving by touch, after Shell gas stations in Chicago started allowing customers to pay by scanning their fingerprints. But the use of biometric identification has negative connotations for some drivers. “I think it scares people,” said Debbie Britton, whose supermarket offers fingerprint payment. “Some of them say, ’Well, now the FBI can find me.’” (AP in Yahoo! BAD DAY FOR: Minding your beeswax, as Clorox agreed to buy earth-friendly health and beauty product company Burt’s Bees for $925 million. “The Clorox name doesn’t tend to make one think of nature-friendly products,” said Sanford C. Bernstein analyst Ali Dibadj. “This acquisition can help.” (Bloomberg)
