Amy Winehouse, Albus Dumbledore, David Copperfield, and Kid Rock
Amy Winehouse was arrested in Norway last week for possession of marijuana. The singer, who has recently been in the news for her heroin and cocaine abuse, was released after paying a $700 fine. Her friends were delighted to hear she was only caught with cannabis, said the London Sun. “We have been telling her to quit the hard stuff and get back on the weed,” said one.
Hogwarts headmaster Albus Dumbledore is gay, author J.K. Rowling told a gathering of Harry Potter fans last week. At a speaking engagement in New York City, Rowling outed Potter’s beloved mentor after being asked if Dumbledore ever found true love. She said that though it was never explicitly stated in her books, she always saw Dumbledore as a lonely soul who fell in love only once, back in his youth, with his best friend, Grindelwald, who later becomes a dark wizard. The audience of young Potter fans cheered the revelation. “If I’d known it would make you so happy,” Rowling said, “I would have announced it years ago.”
The FBI last week raided a Las Vegas warehouse owned by magician David Copperfield after a woman accused him of sexually assaulting her. “An unidentified woman has made serious allegations,” said Copperfield’s attorney, David Chesnoff. “We know these allegations are false because David Copperfield has never forced himself on anyone.” Agents seized computer equipment from the building that the 51-year-old illusionist uses as an office and rehearsal space.

Kid Rock was arrested this week in Atlanta after getting into a fight with a customer at a Waffle House restaurant. Rock and five members of his entourage were charged with misdemeanor battery and held in jail for 12 hours. Police said the customer had recognized a woman who came into the restaurant with Rock at 5 a.m. and got into an argument with her that “escalated into a physical altercation.” Rock and the patron then went outside and fought, police said.
