Dont leave your premier in the car
The week's news at a glance.
Ankara, Turkey
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s bodyguards accidentally locked him, unconscious, in his armored car this week. Low on blood sugar from the Ramadan fast, Erdogan had fainted, and his bodyguards rushed him to the hospital. When they arrived, they jumped out of the armored car and slammed the doors, leaving the key and the unconscious Erdogan inside. The guards had to appeal to a nearby construction team for a sledgehammer; even so, it took 10 minutes to break through the glass. Erdogan fully recovered, but his security team is getting slammed in the Turkish press.
