The week's news at a glance.
Philadelphia
Philadelphia’s art commission voted last week to return a statue of Rocky Balboa to its perch outside the Philadelphia Museum of Art. The statue depicts the fictional hero of the Rocky movie series, played by Sylvester Stallone, raising his fists in triumph atop the museum steps. Two commission members objected to the decision, complaining the statue was “not art.” But a majority of commissioners said that Rocky—the character and the statue—had come to symbolize the city’s spirit.
