FBI targets polygamist

Salt Lake City
The FBI this week placed the leader of a breakaway polygamist Mormon sect on its “10 Most Wanted” list and offered a $100,000 reward for his capture. Warren Jeffs, 50, has been accused of arranging forced marriages between underage girls and older, married men—making him an alleged accomplice to rape. Jeffs himself allegedly takes a new bride each month, and now has more than 50 wives. He is not likely to give up without a fight. “There’s a good chance there would be a standoff,” said former sect member Ross Chatwin. “Warren has predicted he would be a martyr.”
