Terrorists attack
The week's news at a glance.
Dahab, Egypt
Three near-simultaneous bomb blasts killed at least 18 people in an Egyptian Red Sea resort this week. Dozens of tourists were injured in the blasts in Dahab, a small beach city popular with divers and particularly crowded this week because of the Coptic Easter holidays. Witnesses said body parts landed on rooftops of hotels and shops. Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak called the grisly attacks a “sinful terrorist action.” It’s unknown what group was behind the blasts. Two similar attacks in Sinai in the past year and a half were attributed to local Bedouin militants.
