U.S. Marshals this week charged a 30-year-old woman with kidnapping her children three years ago and assuming their father’s identity. Police say that Shellie White took her children from Globe, Ariz., where they were living with her ex-husband. She took them to North Carolina where, police say, she took on her ex-husband’s identity and lived with a woman the children called their mother. "When she was arrested, the children, now ages 6 and 8, asked why they were arresting their daddy," said a spokesman for the U.S. Marshals Service. White said she believed her ex-husband had given her permission to take the kids. "I never knew I was on the run," she said.
