Sex entrapment?
The week's news at a glance.
Vienna
A New York lawyer known for filing class-action suits on behalf of Holocaust victims said this week the Austrian government was trying to smear him with a sex scandal. Austrian authorities are investigating Edward Fagan for allegedly using a call-girl ring that included underage girls. Fagan admitted to the Austrian tabloid News that he did have sex with a prostitute, “Inga,” in Vienna, but said she assured him she was 21. She was so gorgeous, “it would have been a crime not to sleep with her,” he said. Fagan said the Austrians are trying to discredit him because of his legal action against Austrian firms. His reputation already took a blow last month, though, when a New York judge called his latest case against an Austrian bank frivolous and fined him $5,000.
