Paris
A Norwegian man was killed jumping off the Eiffel Tower this week, after his parachute snagged on the upper deck. The unidentified man, 31, reportedly intended to film his jump for use in a commercial for a Norwegian clothing brand. But the chute detached from his body almost immediately, and he plummeted nearly 200 feet to the lower deck. Hundreds of people have died falling from the tower since it opened in 1889. Most have been suicides.
