Racists cleared
The week's news at a glance.
Milwaukee
A Chicago electrician admitted in a suicide note that he killed the husband and mother of a federal judge in Illinois on Feb. 28. Police had suspected white supremacists in the murders. But last week, Bart Ross confessed to killing the family members of Judge Joan Humphrey Lefkow in revenge for her dismissing his medical malpractice suit. His confession was found after police pulled over his car near Milwaukee, and Ross shot himself. In his note, Ross said Lefkow had ruined his life by denying his lawsuit. “It’s heartbreaking that my husband and mother had to die over something like this,” Lefkow said.
