The German government flew several dozen British history teachers to Germany this week, in an effort to show them that the history of Germany includes more than just the Nazi era. Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer last week accused Britons of teaching a stereotyped view of Germans and of dwelling far too much on Hitler. “If you want to learn how the traditional Prussian goose step goes, you have to watch British TV,” Fischer said, “because in Germany nobody knows how to do it.”
