Arnold thinks ahead

California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger ignited speculation about his ambitions this week when he said the U.S. Constitution should be amended to allow immigrants to run for president. “There’s no reason why not,” he said. Schwarzenegger was born in Austria and moved to America to launch a film career, after gaining fame as a bodybuilder. A proposed amendment to make foreign-born citizens eligible for the presidency makes sense, he said, because many immigrants are already working for the government and doing a “terrific job.” But Schwarzenegger said he didn’t know whether he would ever run. “I haven’t thought about that at all,” he said.
