Tennis stars sister murdered

Los Angeles
Yetunde Price, the half sister of tennis stars Venus and Serena Williams, was shot to death this week in the Los Angeles suburb of Compton. Price, 31, and a companion were sitting in a sport utility vehicle when they got into a dispute with some people on the street. Someone opened fire, and Price was hit in the chest. Police arrested a suspect, 24-year-old Aaron Hammer, shortly after Price died. The shooting occurred in a violent neighborhood, about a mile from the public tennis courts where Venus and Serena Williams played as children. The famous pair moved away as teenagers, but remained close to Price, a registered nurse and mother of three. “She was our nucleus and our rock,” the family said in a statement. “This is the saddest day of our lives.”
