Waco, Texas
A former Baylor University basketball player was accused this week of murdering a former teammate, Patrick Dennehy, who disappeared in June. Police in Waco believe Carlton Dotson shot Dennehy after an argument, although the body has not been found. Daniel Okopnyi, a friend of Dennehy’s, said that Dennehy recently obtained guns for his own protection. “Someone is out to get me,” he reportedly told Okopnyi. According to police, Dotson confided to a cousin that he shot Dennehy while the two were firing 9 mm pistols on open land near Waco. FBI agents said Dotson confessed shortly before his arrest near his hometown in Maryland. “I didn’t confess to anything,” Dotson responded.
