GOOD DAY FOR: Low-cost benefits, as a new study suggests that overweight workers will shed pounds for as little as $7. The cash awards could be a better way to lower businesses’ health-care costs than on-site gyms or healthier cafeteria fare. “They really can’t be a bad investment because you don’t pay people unless they lose weight,” said study author Eric Finkelstein. BAD DAY FOR: Freedom to exhibit, as the only privately owned copy of the Magna Carta, and the only copy in the U.S., is set to be auctioned. Sotheby’s expects the foundational legal document to fetch $20 million to $30 million. Ross Perot bought the charter, one of 17 copies, in 1984 for $1.5 million.
