Meanwhile, in The Sun there’s an “Old Trafford shock” with reports that Man Utd could make a last-gasp bid to hijack Antoine Griezmann’s £95m move to Barcelona from Atletico Madrid.

Horror crash

British cyclist Chris Froome has been ruled out of next month’s Tour de France after a “horror crash”.

The Times and The Guardian report that the 34-year-old suffered fractures of his right femur, elbow and ribs during a practice ride before stage four of the Criterium du Dauphine in Roanne, France.

The four-time Tour de France champion was airlifted to hospital and the BBC reports this morning that he is in intensive care and having surgery.
