Black Friday 2017: Amazon kicks off early with tech sales
From smart TVs with lifelike clarity to portable speakers with incredible audio, here are the latest technology deals
With just a week to go before Black Friday, Amazon has announced its first batch of tech deals.
The shopping craze, which landed on UK shores four years ago, often sees a host of retailers cut prices to capitalise on the sales rush.
It’s one of the busiest shopping days in the US and it starts the day after Thanksgiving, which is always the last Thursday of the month. This year, Black Friday falls on 24 November.

Here are some of the best tech deals on offer:
Toshiba 55U5766DB 55ins TV - £439
Black Friday could be a convenient way to upgrade your old television to a newer, Ultra-HD 4K screen.
Toshiba’s 55ins smart TV is currently retailing for £439 on Amazon, which is a price drop of £160. This particular model comes with an Ultra-HD 4K resolution screen, social media apps and streaming services such as Netflix and YouTube.
B&O Play Beoplay P2 - £110
Danish home audio giant Bang & Olufsen’s portable speaker system has been reduced to £110 for Black Friday.
The pebble-looking speaker has a sleek aluminium body and can connect to smart devices through Bluetooth. It’s “incredibly light”, says Digital Trends, and is “easy to slip into your bag, or even into the pocket of your jacket”.

Amazon Echo - £69.99
The retail giant’s latest connected speaker has dropped from £89.99 to £69.99.
Buyers can choose from three colours: charcoal fabric, heather grey fabric or sandstone fabric. There are also three wood-finished options, but these retail at £79.99.
The second-generation speaker has a “more premium sound” than its predecessor and is expected to rival the yet-to-be-released Apple HomePod, says Tech Crunch.

PlayStation VR
PlayStation has dropped the price of its PS VR virtual reality headset and two games to £249, although this particular deal is through the company’s website and not Amazon.
Buyers can choose between the fantasy role-playing game (RPG) Skyrim VR or the recently-released Gran Turismo Sport racing simulator. Both packs come with the PlayStation VR Worlds game and the company’s motion-sensing camera.
However, those who do opt for a PS VR bundle must own a PlayStation 4 console for the games to work.
