After knocking out Alexander Povetkin on Saturday, world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua used the power of social media to ask boxing fans who they would like to see him fight next.

American Deontay Wilder, the WBC champion, is set to fight Britain’s Tyson Fury in December and the winner of that bout could face Joshua at Wembley. However, another British fighter, Dillian Whyte, has also been mentioned as a possible opponent for Joshua.

After beating Povetkin at the weekend, Joshua revealed he had the “Bronze Bomber” Wilder in his sights.

He said: “I got my knockout streak back. I found my right hand which had gone missing for a while. 13 April is what I’m really interested in. My No.1 would be Wilder. That’s it. Let me not talk about No.2 or No3. Wilder, that’s it.”

Wilder wins the poll

Joshua published a poll on his Twitter account to ask who he should fight next – Wilder, Fury or Whyte? The results are in and there’s a clear winner...

Out of the total 487,511 votes, 53% (258,380) picked Wilder, 42% chose Fury while just 5% went for Whyte.
