1. Celebs share support of Simone Biles after she withdraws from the team final

Simone Biles received an outpouring of support on Tuesday after withdrawing from the women's gymnastics team final in Tokyo. Biles had unexpectedly made a "costly error" The Washington Post reports, and she subsequently pulled out of the entire event. "We have to protect our body and our mind," Biles explained in a post-competition interview after Team USA won silver. "It just sucks when you're fighting with your own head." Olympic figure skater Adam Rippon responded on Twitter, writing "I can't imagine the pressure Simone has been feeling. Sending her SO much love." The Real host Loni Love urged the 24-year-old gymnast to "protect your peace" while actress Rosanna Arquette wrote, "Simone Biles is still the most amazing athlete ever." Fact check: true.

2. Adam Driver turns into a majestic centaur in a new cologne ad

Fragrance ads run the gamut from bizarre to wildly offensive, so the fact that Adam Driver's new campaign for Burberry is deeply weird isn't, in itself, shocking. But what is important to know is that in it, a shirtless Driver runs into the ocean where his efforts to keep his very large body buoyant are juxtaposed with the swimming of a horse. In the final shot, Driver appears in his final form as a silhouetted centaur, while in a dramatic voiceover he announces "Burberry Hero: A new fragrance for men." The ad doesn't seem to be officially released yet — so far it's only been shared on fan accounts — though Driver previously confirmed he was working with Burberry on a campaign. It's really worth watching for the visualization of the product notes, which advertise a cologne that "[signifies] the modern man's duality of power and sensibility."

3. Lizzo sprays phone camera with Lysol in PSA telling fans to maintain social distance

Lizzo doesn't want to catch anything. "I don't even wanna catch feelings b----, you think I'm trying to catch COVID?" she said in an Instagram video. The singer pleaded with fans to maintain their distance due to the ongoing pandemic. She said she had a close call with the virus but didn't divulge any details. "We can have a whole moment from 6 feet away," she said, noting she doesn't want to be rude, just safe. In Lizzo fashion, she sang an impromptu song to get her message across: "I do not want you in my personal space, I ain't tryin to catch no COVID today. You get Lysol if you up in my face, give me distance b---- get out of my face."

4. A-Rod is apparently still lurking around Jennifer Lopez

Literally no one has spared a thought for Alex Rodriguez since Bennifer got back together, but it turns out the former Yankee is still lurking around — even after his ex-fianceé has clearly moved on. According to Page Six, A-Rod liked an Instagram post by Jennifer Lopez's sister, Lynda, celebrating J.Lo's 52nd birthday. Even odder, Rodriguez apparently also decided to celebrate his birthday, which is just four days after Lopez's, in St. Tropez of all places — where the singer was seen hanging out with Ben Affleck. Rodriguez isn't the only one to have once sent a subtle message through Instagram; in April, Lopez hearted a post with the text "don't make her think you care when you have never given a f--k about her," leading to some speculation she might've had Rodriguez in mind.

5. Matt Damon has to fact-check press stories about BFF Ben Affleck

Best friends Matt Damon and Ben Affleck "text pretty much about everything," Damon said while promoting his new movie. Even though the actors are close, Damon still learns what Affleck is up to through the press. But unlike us normies who speculate, Damon goes straight to the source. "Normally I'm just fact checking things that I read. 'Did this happen?' He's like, 'No that didn't happen,'" he said. But he's not totally in the loop. Regarding Bennifer 2.0 going Insta-official, he said: "All the pictures that have come out are the same ones that you see. I don't know anything you don't know." He did admit he's happy for his friend. "He's the best. He deserves every happiness in the world. I'm glad for both of them."
