Jenna Ortega admits she was 'almost unprofessional' by changing 'Wednesday' scripts
Wednesday's harshest critic may be its star. On the Armchair Expert podcast, Jenna Ortega said the Netflix phenomenon isn't "typically the kind of TV that I would watch" and that she "thought that it was going to be a lot darker," noting that starring as Wednesday Addams isn't her "proudest moment internally." The actress went on to admit she became "almost unprofessional" by going rogue and "changing lines" on set. "Everything that she does, everything that I had to play, did not make sense for her character at all," Ortega said. "Her being in a love triangle made no sense." Ortega also revealed the viral dance scene was supposed to be a flash mob until she "vetoed" it because Wednesday wouldn't "be okay with that," and she said her brain tells her the series is a hit because the "general public must be so easy to please." Who knew Wednesday's gloomy demeanor was simply Ortega's natural reaction to the show's writing?

Drew Barrymore's therapist quit on her: 'I can't do this anymore'
You know your drinking has gotten out of control when even your therapist breaks up with you. Speaking to the Los Angeles Times, Drew Barrymore revealed her therapist of 10 years, psychoanalyst Barry Michels, dropped her as a client due to her heavy drinking after her 2016 divorce. "He just said, 'I can't do this anymore,'" she recalled. "It was really about my drinking." Barrymore wasn't offended, though, recalling that she said, "I get it. I've never respected you more. You see I'm not getting better. And I hope, one day, that I can earn your trust back." But there's a happy ending. According to the Times, Barrymore, who quit drinking in 2019, called Michels after two years, and he took her back. Barrymore's friend Cameron Diaz, meanwhile, reflected it was "difficult to watch" her during this time, but "I knew that if we all stuck with her and gave her the support she needed, she would find her way."

Jon Bernthal is reportedly returning as the Punisher in the MCU
The Hollywood Reporter has good news and bad news for Marvel fans. The good news? Jon Bernthal is reportedly returning as the Punisher in the MCU, joining the cast of Daredevil: Born Again. The actor starred as Frank Castle in Netflix's Daredevil and its spinoff, The Punisher. But all the Netflix Marvel shows were canceled after Marvel Studios began making original content for Disney+, leaving Bernthal's future with the franchise up in the air. Since then, Marvel has started bringing some of the Netflix actors back in the MCU proper, including Charlie Cox as Daredevil, and Cox will now lead his own Disney+ show, Daredevil: Born Again. Bernthal's return is the good news, but the bad news is the Reporter says Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson aren't expected to reprise their fan favorite Daredevil characters, Karen Page and Foggy Nelson. Objection!

Avril Lavigne and Tyga seemingly confirm romance
Can they make it any more obvious? Avril Lavigne and Tyga appear to have confirmed their romance, as they were spotted kissing on Monday night at a Paris Fashion Week party in photos published by TMZ. "They certainly looked like a couple at the party," TMZ writes, "holding hands as they walked into the swanky bash." This comes about two weeks after it was revealed that Lavigne called off her engagement to Mod Sun. At the time, there was speculation that she was dating Tyga, as Lavigne was spotted at dinner with him, though sources previously insisted to TMZ that they were just friends. Mod Sun's rep also said when the breakup news emerged that "they were together and engaged as of three days ago when he left for tour, so if anything has changed, that's news to him." Apparently, though, he wasn't good enough for her.

Yes, Jimmy Kimmel will talk about The Slap at the Oscars
How's this for a way to get people to watch the Oscars: you'll get to hear even more about The Slap! Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Oscar host Jimmy Kimmel confirmed he will, in fact, address Will Smith's slap of Chris Rock during this year's ceremony because "it would be ridiculous not to mention it." But he noted that "whatever I say about it, it's going to have to be great" after a year of endless slap jokes. "So much has been said and there's so much focus on it," he said, so he promised not to "make the whole monologue about that." Kimmel, who was hosting when La La Land was wrongly announced as Best Picture in 2017, also joked it's "disappointing" he's no longer part of the "biggest f--kup" in Oscar history, and he quipped that should someone try to slap him and "I'm bigger than they are," he'll "beat the s--t out of them on television." Eat your heart out, WrestleMania.
