Jude Law wore perfume that smelled like 'fecal matter' on a movie

Hey Jude, you smell real bad. At the Cannes Film Festival, Jude Law admitted to wearing nasty perfume on the set of his new movie to make sure he smelled as disgusting as possible. The actor plays Henry VIII in "Firebrand," and after reading that "you could smell Henry three rooms away" because his "leg was rotting so badly," he thought it would "have a great impact if I smelt awful" during filming. To achieve this, Law had a perfume made that smelled like "pus, blood, fecal matter, and sweat." He intended to use it "very subtly," but director Karim Aïnouz loved the idea so much that he started just spraying rooms with the perfume to the point that a boom operator once appeared to be on the verge of vomiting. "When he walked on set, it was just horrible," Aïnouz noted. So maybe avoid seeing this one in 4DX.

Melissa McCarthy recalls a 'hostile set' that made her 'physically ill'

Melissa McCarthy was one of the poor unfortunate souls stuck with a horrible on-set boss. The actress told The Guardian she worked for "someone once who ran such a volatile, hostile set that it made me physically ill," adding, "My eyes were swelling up, I was absorbing all of this nuttiness." In fact, McCarthy said there were "people weeping, visibly so upset by this one person" on set, "and I think that's why the manipulation worked, because to get to me, this person would fire people I loved, which kept me quiet." This was "very effective," McCarthy continued, until "one day, I was like, 'It stops today!'" She didn't name the project or provide any clues to help narrow it down. But McCarthy said that after standing up to this toxic person, she learned to "never keep quiet again." Unlike Ariel, the "Little Mermaid" star refuses to lose her voice.

Actor Ray Stevenson dies at 58

Ray Stevenson, the actor known for his roles in shows like "Rome" and movies like "RRR," has died. He was 58 and would have turned 59 this week. Stevenson's death was first reported by the Italian newspaper La Repubblica, which said he was hospitalized during the production of a movie, but his cause of death hasn't been confirmed. Stevenson's other roles included Volstagg in the "Thor" films, Frank Castle in the movie "Punisher: War Zone," and Blackbeard on "Black Sails," and he played the evil Governor Scott Buxton in "RRR." He also voiced Gar Saxon in "Star Wars Rebels" and "Star Wars: The Clone Wars," and he's returning to the "Star Wars" universe as a villain in this summer's "Ahsoka" series on Disney+. "A brilliant, gutsy, larger-than-life actor who filled every part he played right up to the brim," tweeted "Rome" star James Purefoy. "My thoughts are with his family, his lovely wife Betta and their beautiful kids. What a loss."

Leonardo DiCaprio and Lily Gladstone are coming for Oscars after 'Flower Moon' premiere

Critics are giving the stars of "Killers of the Flower Moon" their flowers, so will the Oscars be next? Martin Scorsese's latest film, a crime drama about the murders of members of the Osage tribe in the 1920s, premiered at the Cannes Film Festival over the weekend, where it received a nine-minute standing ovation and rave reviews. Multiple critics, including IndieWire's David Ehrlich, said it features the greatest performance of Leonardo DiCaprio's career. Reviews also praised star Lily Gladstone, who The Atlantic's David Sims called a "stunning breakout." Gladstone recently revealed she was literally just about to quit acting, and apply for a job with the Department of Agriculture, before Scorsese requested a Zoom meeting with her. "Killers of the Flower Moon" officially looks set to be a major player at the 2024 Oscars, and it would normally be in a strong position to win Best Picture if this wasn't also the year of the #BarbieSweep.

Taylor Swift announces she has 'never been this happy'

Joe who? Taylor Swift somewhat randomly told fans during one of her concerts over the weekend that she has "never been this happy in my life in all aspects of my life." She continued by stressing it's "not just the tour" making her feel this way. "I don't know, I just sort of feel like my life finally feels like it makes sense," she said. The comments came less than two months after it was revealed that Swift and Joe Alwyn, her boyfriend of six years, had broken up. It also comes as Swift has been facing some backlash from fans for her rumored relationship with Matty Healy, a singer who has been embroiled in multiple controversies after he allegedly did a Nazi salute on stage, suggested dating her would be "emasculating," and more. Swift delivered her speech as she was about to play the song "Question...?," which is only appropriate given fans have one key question for her lately: Him?
