A goat and a dog that were both elected mayor have helped raise money to renovate a community playground in Vermont. The election of Lincoln the goat, who was voted in as honorary mayor in 2018, has helped raise about $10,000 (£7,300) while the election of the current mayor, Murfee, a Cavalier King Charles spaniel, raised twice that. Humans who live in the area chipped in another $20,000. Unfortunately for Murfee, dogs are banned from the playground.
Man arrested after living in airport
A man who was afraid to fly due to Covid-19 lived inside the secure area of Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport terminal for nearly three months before being caught, prosecutors said. The man, who was using an airport worker’s misplaced credentials, survived “largely from other passengers giving him food,” a court was told. He is charged with felony criminal trespass to a restricted area of an airport and misdemeanour theft.
