Cameron said police numbers on London streets tonight would be nearly tripled to 16,000. At least 225 people have been arrested amid accusations that the police have abandoned the streets to looters. Forensic tests are expected to confirm that it had not been fired. Prosecutors are expected to drop criminal charges after losing confidence in Diallo as a witness.
