1. 'UP TO 10,000 KILLED' BY PHILIPPINES TYPHOON
As many as 10,000 people may have died after Typhoon Haiyan devastated the central Philippine province of Leyte, according to a police chief. One of the worst storms on record, Haiyan destroyed homes, schools and an airport in the eastern city of Tacloban. Half a million people in Vietnam are fleeing their homes ahead of the storm's expected arrival.
2. WAS UNITE BOSS ELECTED BY PHANTOMS?
The general secretary of the Unite union, Len McCluskey, was elected unlawfully, claims a man who stood against him. An investigation has been launched by the union regulator into allegations that people who had left the union were included in the ballot, with almost 160,000 of those balloted not members of Unite.
3. NO DEAL AT IRAN NUCLEAR TALKS
Talks between Iran and world powers have ended without reaching an agreement on Tehran's nuclear programme. Participants made optimistic statements, with EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton saying there was “concrete progress” and Iranian foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif saying the talks were “something we can build on”.

4. WILL CORONATION OATH BE BANNED?
Lawyers are trying to ban Prince Charles and all future monarchs from having a Christian coronation, reports the Sunday Times. A secularist campaign group has instructed a leading firm of solicitors to challenge the religious oath, which stems from the belief that God chooses monarchs. If successful, the bid would move the nation closer to becoming a secular state.
5. QUEEN TO LEAD REMEMBRANCE DAY
The Queen will lead the nation's Remembrance Sunday commemorations from Whitehall. More than 10,000 military veterans will march past the Cenotaph including, for the first time, a World War Two volunteer unit known as 'Churchill's Secret Army'. The traditional two-minute silence will be observed by military veterans, senior officers and political leaders.
6. DAVID BECKHAM 'TO BE KNIGHTED'
David Beckham has been nominated for a knighthood, claims the Sun On Sunday. The report says the 38-year-old football legend has been put forward for inclusion in the New Year's Honours List for his sporting career, his work as an ambassador for Britain, and his charity efforts. His wife would become known as Lady Victoria Beckham.
7. ENERGY GIANTS SET TO REPAY £2BN
Leading energy firms are to repay customers up to £2bn which they have stockpiled from direct debit overpayments. The Mail On Sunday had revealed how the 13m households that pay a fixed amount every month often overpay in the summer when energy use is lower. Energy minister Greg Barker said last night: “This looks like a real win for hard-pressed working people.”
8. 'LOCKDOWN' FOR BEEB STAFF AT TEEN BASH
The BBC placed draconian restrictions on its staff at the Radio One Teen Awards to prevent presenters being accused of sexual misconduct with children, says the Mail On Sunday. Under rules referred to as 'Savile Lockdown' after the disgraced DJ Jimmy Savile, presenters and other staff were banned from moving around Wembley Arena without a security guard.
9. ROLLING STONES 'TO BOW OUT NEXT YEAR'
The Rolling Stones are to bow out after a world tour next year. The rock band – with a combined age of 279 – have been together for more than 50 years. The Daily Star Sunday says lead singer Mick Jagger, 70, has told friends: "We can't be dancing around on stage in our 80s - even by our standards that's insane."
10. PENALTY SAVES MOURINHO'S BLUSHES
A controversially-awarded stoppage-time penalty from Eden Hazard salvaged a 2-2 draw for Chelsea against West Brom and kept Jose Mourinho's unbeaten home record intact. Liverpool beat Fulham 4-0 at Anfield. Today, Manchester United host Arsenal at Old Trafford. Victory for the Gunners would take them 11 points clear of the champions.
