1. LIB DEMS CALL ON NICK CLEGG TO QUIT

Two Liberal Democrat parliamentary candidates are calling on Nick Clegg to stand down as party leader. Jackie Porter, the candidate for Winchester, and Ros Kayes, the would-be MP for West Dorset, say Clegg should go for the good of the party. Both are to stand in key swing seats. However, a party spokesman described the calls as “needless infighting”.
