1. ‘Up to 23’ Tunisia victims are British
At least 15 of the 38 people who died in the Tunisia beach attack were Britons – but it is feared the final UK death toll could be as high as 23. It is the worst loss of British life in a terrorist atrocity since the London bombings on July 7, 2005. Tunisian student Seifeddine Rezgui, 23, who reportedly has links with Islamic State, opened fire on tourists near Sousse.
2. Greece votes in favour of poll plan
Athens has voted in favour of prime minister Alexis Tsipras' motion to hold a referendum on the country's creditor proposals for reforms in exchange for loans. Tsipras' referendum, planned for next Sunday, was approved by at least 179 deputies out of 300 lawmakers. The PM said he was confident that "the Greek people will say an emphatic no”.
3. Bush: Gun control won’t prevent massacres
Gun control would not prevent another Charleston-style shooting, claims Jeb Bush. The Republican presidential hopeful, who plans to meet black ministers in Charleston next week, said identifying potentially violent people before they committed such crimes was a wiser approach than further restrictions on gun ownership.

4. Glasto: Kanye West divides critics
Kanye West has delivered his hotly anticipated Glastonbury set, telling the audience he is "the greatest living rock star on the planet". The controversial US rapper’s set was briefly interrupted by a stage invasion. “[West] was as mad, infuriating, daring, electrifying, ridiculous, original and unwilling to compromise as we perhaps should have expected,” said the Daily Telegraph.
5. Beheading suspect sent a selfie
The man suspected of decapitating a man in France sent a "selfie" posing with the victim's severed head, according to a legal source. Yassin Salhi, 35, reportedly sent the photo to a Canadian mobile phone number after Friday's attack near Lyon. Salhi, a father-of-three, has been described by a work colleague as being mysterious and deceptively calm.
6. Now Prince Philip slams doctors
Prince Philip says he avoids seeing doctors whenever possible. During a visit to Germany, the 94-year-old said: “If I had the choice I wouldn’t see any doctors at all. They all give you different opinions.” The controversial royal had exploratory abdominal surgery and in December 2011 he was fitted with a heart stent. He has twice been treated for bladder infections.
7. Jeremy Clarkson to take on Top Gear
Jeremy Clarkson's new television show will go head-to-head with Chris Evans' Top Gear, says the Sunday Mirror. ITV bosses plan to run Clarkson’s new programme in Top Gear’s customary slot – 8pm on Sunday nights – creating a ratings war. Clarkson says he wants his new show to be as “anarchic, edgy and funny” as Top Gear was before he was axed for punching a producer.
8. England reach World Cup semi final
England’s women reached a World Cup semi-final for the first time as victory over hosts Canada set up a tie with reigning champions Japan. Jodie Taylor opened the scoring in the 11th minute. Less than three minutes later, Lucy Bronze headed the ball over McLeod to notch her second game-winning goal in as many days.
9. Joni Mitchell unable to speak
Joni Mitchell is unable to speak after suffering from a "traumatic brain injury" earlier this year, revealed guitarist and singer David Crosby. Mitchelll, 71, was hospitalised in Los Angeles in March after being found unconscious at her home. Previous reports suggest that the music legend suffered a brain aneurysm and remains in hospital.
10. Paraguay beat Brazil in Copa
Paraguay reprised their 2011 Copa America penalty shootout win over Brazil to set up a semi-final meeting with Argentina. Robinho, a onetime Manchester City player, scored on his 99th appearance to give Brazil a 15th-minute lead, slotting home a Dani Alves cross. However, Thiago Silva's second-half handball allowed Derlis Gonzalez to equalise from the spot and force the shootout.
