1. Harry and Meghan tie knot at emotional wedding
The Royal Family has thanked the well-wishers who travelled to Windsor for the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The couple are starting their married life after an emotional wedding ceremony that swept aside many conventions. They are expected to leave next week to honeymoon in either Namibia or Botswana in southern Africa. The newlyweds are now known as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
2. Vote Leave under microscope for 'data-harvesting' football quiz
Vote Leave is facing questions surrounding a data-harvesting competition that offered football fans the chance to win £50m. Vote Leave ran the promotion, giving entrants the chance to win £50m if they correctly predicted the outcome of every game in the European Championships that year. The campaign director later admitted that the competition to win the handsome sum was a data-harvesting exercise.
3. US abandons military exercise ahead of North Korea summit
Washington has scrapped a military exercise involving B-52 bombers in a bid to save the summit between Donald Trump and North Korea. Drills were planned for last week featuring the nuclear-capable US Stratofortress bombers and South Korean aircraft. After they were cancelled, concerns arose that America and South Korea are making concessions to the North as Kim Jong-un made a series of complaints.

4. Firms could face unrecyclable plastic tax
Companies that use unrecyclable plastic for packaging will face a huge tax under plans to drive its use "out of existence", says The Independent. A source involved said the tax would make the cost of using unrecyclable plastics "so exorbitantly high" that companies would conclude they are no longer worth it. The government has committed to abolishing all plastic waste by 2042.
5. Cuban officials recover black box from crashed plane
The authorities in Cuba say they have found one of the two black boxes from a plane that crashed near Havana airport. Transport Minister Adel Yzquierdo said the black box is in "good condition" and that he hopes the second device will be recovered soon. The death toll from the crash has been revised up to 110 people, including 11 foreigners.
6. Santa Fe suspect shouted 'surprise' before attack
The suspect in the Santa Fe High School shootings shouted "surprise" before the attack began, according to the authorities. A court document says that Dimitrios Pagourtzis told police he spared certain students he liked "so he could have his story told". He has been charged with murder after 10 people were shot dead on Friday in the Texas town.
7. Eight killed in cricket bombings in Afghanistan
Eight people were killed and dozens were wounded by explosions at a cricket match in the eastern Afghan city of Jalalabad. The attacks took place after evening prayers on Friday at a football stadium that was hosting a cricket match at the start of the holy month of Ramadan. A UN official said: "This cold and brutal act can have no justification whatsoever; those responsible must be held accountable."
8. Poorer communities lose GPs as rich gain more
A 'healthcare gap' has been revealed as official figures show fewer GPs are choosing to work in poorer areas but more are joining practices in wealthier neighbourhoods. Labour MP Frank Field says the trend is worsening the existing "under-doctoring" of deprived populations. Analysts say the least well-off will be forced to wait longer for an appointment, even though they are generally less healthy than the rest of the population.
9. Man, 65, charged with murder of 85-year-old woman
A man has been charged with murdering an 85-year-old woman who was found dead in her home in east London. Paul Prause, 65, will appear at Redbridge Magistrates' Court tomorrow. A handyman discovered the body of Rosina Coleman at her house in Romford on Tuesday. A post-mortem examination gave the cause of death as blunt force trauma to the head and neck.
10. FA Cup victory 'will not save Antonio Conte's job'
Football pundits predict that Chelsea manager Antonio Conte will not be spared the axe despite winning the FA Cup yesterday. Eden Hazard's first-half penalty saw Chelsea beat Manchester United at Wembley. Conte, who landed the Premier League title last season, is tipped to lose his job in the coming weeks. The defence of the league title was poor, with the Stamford Bridge side not even managing a top four place.
