A telegram containing a final message from Adolf Hitler is expected to fetch up to £70,000 at auction. Auctioneers say the memo, sent just days before the Nazi leader’s death to one of his favourite commanders, is “essentially Hitler's suicide note”.

Two-headed calf born on a US farm

A calf with two heads has been born at a farm in the United States. Heather Herman, who discovered the calf at her family’s ranch in Montana, admitted: “I had very mixed reactions when I realised what was wrong.” Sadly, the calf died soon after it was born.

Suspected burglar freed after being trapped in chimney

A burglar was freed by fire-fighters after he was trapped in a chimney for several hours. The Tulsa Fire Department said the man was attempting to shimmy down the chimney of an Oklahoma business when he became stuck. Later, the boss of the firm reported the problem, after initially thinking the man’s cries for help were coming from a pigeon.
