An Irish teenager is recovering in hospital after he was hit by a falling sheep while hiking with friends. The Mourne Mountain Rescue Team reported that the sheep had apparently fallen from a crag above the boy, and was “uninjured and left the area unaided”.
Russia erects statue of wrong man
A statue honouring French builder Jean-François Thomas de Thomon for his architectural work in St Petersburg may actually depict Scottish scientist Thomas Thomson. The sculptor has admitted there was a mistake, and revealed he had relied on Wikipedia to source a likeness of Thomas de Thomon to copy.

Man’s thumb bitten off during golf course brawl
A Massachusetts man has been arrested after he allegedly bit another man’s thumb off during a fight on a golf course. Local media reports the victim's thumb had been bitten off to his knuckle, and he was transported to hospital for treatment. It remains unclear if the thumb may be reattached.
