At least 14 people have been arrested at the annual SantaCon gathering in Hoboken, New York. Among those arrested was a man who was detained for punching a police officer in the face. Officials have called for calm and for people to sit out the festival next year on public safety grounds.
Judge resigns after telling lawyer to have sex with movie star
A New York judge has been forced to resign, after it was found that he had told a male attorney to have oral sex with – and receive the same from – Hollywood actor Viggo Mortensen. Judge John Hallett also reported made an oral sex gesture at lawyer Terence Brennen a few months later, causing the attorney to break his silence on the matter.

Hi-tech Russian robot exposes as man in a suit
Footage of a Russian robot used as an example of the country's technological prowess has been exposed as a man wearing a robot suit. TV viewers spotted some uncannily human movements only to discover that the AI machine was in fact a man wearing a robot costume sold by a Russian company.
