Man Utd transfer news: Kieran Trippier, David de Gea, Paul Pogba, Matthijs De Ligt
United eye Spurs star Trippier while Van Der Sar is tipped to become technical director at Old Trafford
Tracking Trippier
Manchester United are said to be cautiously optimistic about securing Kieran Trippier from Tottenham Hotspur this summer.
But according to the Daily Express, the Red Devils will “have to pay more than they might have expected” for the England right-back.

Aware of the interest in Trippier, Tottenham “have slapped a considerable £40m valuation” on him in the hope of calling Man Utd’s bluff, says the newspaper.
United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reportedly set to make a savage cull of his squad in the summer, and the 28-year-old is high on his list of the new talent to be brought in.
However, The Sun warns that United will face competition from Atletico Madrid and Napoli, although neither have the financial muscle to overcome the English side.
Pain in Spain
Three of United’s Spanish stars believe they have been “treated unfairly during recent contract negotiations”, Metro reports.
The paper says that David de Gea, Juan Mata and Ander Herrera are resentful of what they see as “preferential treatment” given to the team’s English contingent in contract discussions.
Luke Shaw, Phil Jones, Chris Smalling and Ashley Young have all penned “lucrative new deals in recent months”.
By contrast, De Gea, Mata and Herrera are said to be feeling hard done by - which could be a contributory factor in the slump that saw United suffer a 4-0 thrashing at Everton over the weekend.
Going Dutch
Solskjaer’s former United teammate Edwin Van Der Sar is being tipped to arrive at the club in the summer as technical director, and the Daily Star believes that could help the Red Devils sign some of Ajax’s young talent.
The former Manchester United goalkeeper is currently chief executive at Ajax and has been a key factor in their incredible run to the last four of the Champions League.
That - and his history with Solskjaer - is why United are allegedly in negotiations with Van Der Ser. In turn, the club hopes that he will help them in their pursuit of 19-year-old defender Matthijs De Ligt, 22-year-old Brazilian frontman David Neres and midfielder Donny van de Beek, 22, all of whom are being eyed by Ajax this season.
Pogba latest
Finally, the Daily Express has an Easter update on the never-ending saga that is Paul Pogba’s future.
Citing French press, the newspaper says that the mercurial midfielder is “well advanced” in talks to join Real Madrid this summer and that the Spanish giants are likely to have their £130m bid accepted by United.
